CHALLENGE 2: Peer assessment activity: Designing an e-activity to add to the project.

To design a class activity. This activity will have to meet three key requirements. First, it must be based on collaboration; the activity must be accomplished through the joint, coordinated work of students in more than one school. Second, the activity must lead to a concrete final product, a product which can be evaluated. Finally, the evaluation of the product must refer to one or some of the pedagogical objectives of the project we drafted in the previous module.

Following the draft of the Project presented. As the product of the Project was the creation of ebooks with storyjumper, a first e-activity could be the invention of a character. Each mix-nationality group writes down a description (in a padlet each group). They reach a consensus to have one description for their carácter.

One of them records the description with Audacity for example and shares it in the Twinspace. The pupils from the other groups have to draw the different characters while listening to the description. Drawings are uploaded finally in the padlet with the written description and these padlets are shared in the Twinspace.

Then, they see the chabce186d336e8aeb6a78439c920903c43racter each group was inspired in from the storyjumper gallery and they assess which one from the drawings suits best. They can give their opinion Tricider or answer some questions using a rubric to see if the characters created meet the essential features included in the audio.

In summary, ICTs tools proposed: Audacity, storyjumper, padlet, tricider.  Collaboration is an essential feature for example when reaching an agreement in the description of their character. The final product of this e-activity is the making-up of the character of the e-book expected to be the result of the main Project.  As some of the pedagogical objectives to refer we can mention the fostering of the English language, especially the mastery of the writing skills when doing the description, the engaging of students in the use of ICT tools and the disposition of working in a collaborative way.
